eFuel Facility Project in Haapavesi

Status Update - 6 February 2026

The eFuel facility project in Haapavesi will not be realised as planned. Our CO₂ site partner, NordFuel Oy, has announced that it will not continue with the bioproduct factory project that the eFuel Facility was intended to be co‑located with. As a result, the associated eFuel project cannot progress at this time.

The site may still be considered favourable for a future facility if conditions change.

Liquid Wind will continue to monitor the situation together with local partners and remains committed to advancing green energy initiatives in the region when conditions allow.
