FlagshipONE: A pioneering eFuel Facility
FlagshipONE in Örnsköldsvik is Liquid Wind’s first commercial-scale eFuel facility project. It was acquired from Liquid Wind by the Danish energy company Ørsted in late 2022.
Integration with Övik Energi AB
The eFuel facility will be connected with the municipal energy company Övik Energi AB’s cogeneration plant Hörneborgsverket. The cogeneration plant uses renewable biogenic fuels to produce electricity and steam for industrial use and heat for homes and buildings in Örnsköldsvik. Right next to the plant, there is a port facility, offering access to storage and offloading of liquid fuels for ships. The plant will produce 50,000 tonnes of eFuel per year once operational.
