Fuelling a Resilient Future
In 2024, Liquid Wind continued working towards supporting three geopolitical priorities: Climate Change, Energy Security, and Industrial Competitiveness. The six Liquid Wind eFuel facility projects being developed in the Nordics will jointly result in 1.1 million tons of avoided fossil emissions annually from the shipping industry. By reducing dependence on imported fossil fuels, Liquid Wind facilitates the transition to locally produced sustainable eFuels, strengthening resilience in the face of geopolitical crises.

Developing a Collaborative Industrial Ecosystem
In the Nordics, Liquid Wind is proud to be part of Sweden’s forward-thinking sustainable industries by creating a new, groundbreaking sector alongside our peers and partners.
In Denmark, in partnership with leading decarbonisation companies Alfa Laval, Carbon Clean, Siemens Energy, and Topsoe, Liquid Wind inaugurated Europe’s first eFuel Design and Performance Centre (DPC).
On a global level – Liquid Wind entered into a strategic partnership with Samsung E&A aimed at accelerating the development of eFuel facilities outside Europe, targeting Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
Claes Fredriksson, CEO and founder of Liquid Wind, comments:
“The demand for low-carbon maritime fuels is undeniable, and we are seeing major shipping companies launching eFuel-powered vessels. Our shareholders recognise this, and we are pleased to welcome Samsung Venture Investment as a new investor, alongside continued support from Uniper and HYCAP. This backing strengthens our capacity to accelerate production and advance our vision to reduce the world’s dependency on fossil fuels. The investment, the largest in our company’s history, reflects their confidence in Liquid Wind’s capacity to scale eFuel production in the years to come.”
